Person of the Year 2008

The elected president of the United States, Barack Obama, was designated "Person of the Year" by the American magazine "Time".

The publication of the election was motivated by the fact that the future leader of the White House "had the confidence to outline an ambitious future in a difficult moment" and showed "competence that makes the Americans to hope that they could succeed."

Barack Obama appeared on the cover of the prestigious magazine 15 times in the past two years. The title is awarded annually since 1927, in 1999 changing the name of "Man of the Year" into "Person of the Year".
