Hundreds of thousands of books must been written in all the languages about positive thinking? Every second book on self-development invariably has a chapter on positive thinking. Why? Why so much importance is being given to positive thinking? What are the reasons? Does positive thinking really help? Many people believe that by thinking positively nothing changes. They think that this is an invention of some fertile imaginations to sell more books and make money. Is that true? Do you want to see books on why you should think negatively? Will that help us at all?

Should one think positively despite the worst happening around us? But thinking negatively will not help at all. It will rather make you think so helplessly that you will not make any attempt to come out of any mess. Positive thinking will at least not produce negative effects on your health. Let us discuss further.

Let us discuss the alternative to arrive at a quick answer. Do you believe in positive thinking? If you believe I need not bother you more. If you do not believe in positive thinking, do you believe in negative thinking? What are the benefits of that? If you are trying to achieve some objectives, do you keep thinking that you will not achieve them?

What do you get by thinking negatively? Stress, tension, high blood pressure, stomach upsets and sleeplessness. Does that help you? Sometimes the scenario is so bad that we all think negatively. Even in that scenario, does thinking negatively help? It does not help at all. Negative thoughts rather make a person weak and prevent him/her from making more effort.

Negative thinking is a habit. Whenever you think negatively, stop yourself an stop thinking negatively. If you think that positive thinking does not work, at least you agree that negative thinking does us more harm. Let us think positively.

'Friday the 13th' scores largest horror-film debut ever

Friday the 13th scared up the largest debut on record for a horror film, taking in $42.4 million this weekend, according to studio estimates from box office tracking firm Media By Numbers.

Jumbo Hostel is the first hotel-plane in the world and is built in an old Boeing 747. Unique idea belongs to Oscar Dios, a Swedish businessman, aged 36 years.

The hotel has 25 rooms furnished with metal beds and above are fitted compartments for luggage. The room is equipped with flat-screen televisions on which tourists can watch entertainment programs and information on flights.

Hotel may benefit from a reception desk, a coffee shop, shower cabins and bathrooms. The upper deck of the Boeing has been transformed into conference room.

"Already we have 200 reservations. The interior of the plane looks very good and was arranged in the style of the 70's. All employees will wear classic uniforms of the crew members. "People can really work on projects for the good of humanity while learning about something they want to learn about in the process," she said.

Say NO But Don’t Feel Guilty

Not once we were in the situation of saying "no" to someone. Ok, so if you are reading this means you are not the only one who struggles with this problem.

Why do we say it?

Saying "no" could be, or already is one of the biggest timesavers in existence. This could spare you from commitments wich may cost you hours, days, weeks, even months of your time. It is not easy to say "no" when someone is asking you for something. You may feel guilty wich makes you say "yes" when in fact you should say "no".

How do I use it without feeling guilty?

You should be sincere. If there is a guilty feeling it has to be there for a reason. It can trigger as a reminder if you say "no" while your heart is saying "yes". When you are sure that you are sincere then you wont feel guilty when saying "no".

If you feel that your decision will make the world eventually a better place then you should say "no" without feeling guilty. This may not be easy because a decision may be good for you but bad for the others in short term.

If you want to be more confortable with your decision you need to make the others feel the same. To do this you will have to give them a reason wich will benefit them.

The next step is to communicate clearly to others what is the benetfit. Choose polite but firm words wich will give them a clear "no" but also a good reason of why doing so may benefit them. Just the fact that your are making them feel better will put the guilty feeling even further from you.

Those who believe in aliens can send SMS in space through a site called SentForever.com, which uses the station satellite of British Telecom, informs the online edition of the daily Telegraph.

This communication project was initiated in the hope that alien life forms will intercept messages sent and will come to discover Earth. SMS's are sent in the universe via radio waves, using the station for satellite transmission of British Telecom in Goonhilly (Cornwall).

"Many people believe that we are not alone in the universe. The most frequent messages they send into space are of the type" I am here and ready 'or' I expect to be contacted ' ", related Chris Thomason, one of the founders of the website the SentForever.com. Site visitors can post messages for free, but those who want a certificate attesting to the transmission in space, must pay 10 euros.

"In space, radio waves travel until they reach a solid, such as a star or planet. Spectrum radio waves become wider with the distance, so if a planet in a galaxy is on the same wave, signals will travel to her", it says on the site.

Also this year, the social network Bebo initiated the transmission of 500 pictures and text messages in space, to a planet known as Gliese 581C, which scientists think could host life forms.

Marilyn Monroe pics sold for nearly $150,000

NEW YORK – A collection of photographs of Marilyn Monroe taken for Vogue magazine the year she died has been auctioned in New York for nearly $150,000.

A spokeswoman for Christie's auction house says the 36 photos taken by Bert Stern sold for $146,500 on Tuesday. The pre-sale estimate was $100,000 to $150,000.

Christie's says the photos from a 1962 shoot were the last professional images taken of Monroe before she died that year of a drug overdose. They ran in Vogue instead as a memorial.

They're among more than 100 Monroe images being offered for sale at Christie's. The sale continues Wednesday.

Also at Christie's Tuesday, four Helmut Newton photographs, titled "They're Coming, Paris (Naked and Dressed)," sold for $662,500.

The buyers were anonymous.

How Warcraft reigned supreme in 2008

Another year gone, and Blizzard's World of Warcraft remains the unrivaled champion of the massive multiplayer online (MMO) genre, and - in many ways - PC gaming in general. At its feet lay 2008's pile of would-be "WoW-killers" left charred, battered, and wondering what Blizzard's four-year-old creation has that they lack.

"WoW-killer" is the marketing kiss of death in this town. Just as sure as "iPod-killer," or "Google-killer" is for digital music players and internet search. But the money's too good in the MMO genre for there not to be a constant stream of challengers. And there's profits to be had by owning the number two - hell, the twenty-second-best selling MMO out there.

But why can't anybody beat WoW after all this time?

The two biggest challengers to WoW this year were Funcom's Age of Conan and Electronic Arts' Warhammer Online. Both games are modeled on fictional universes preceding WoW mythos by many years, and with built-in fan bases similar to what WoW enjoyed back at its 2004 debut.

Measuring accurately who's really winning this market is difficult because solid information on how many people are playing any given MMO is hard to come by. Companies tout subscription numbers that are - at best - vague in making a distinction between free trial, actual paying accounts and uncanceled subscriptions.

Fully-conscious of the smoke blown up our arses, let's go with what we have and compare 2008's challengers. In October, before Blizzard released the astronomically successful WoW expansion Wrath of the Lich King, EA claimed to have 800,000 Warhammer subscribers. Funcom's latest count in November for Age of Conan was 700,000 subscribers. Blizzard, meanwhile, said it had more than 11 million.

With numbers like these it's not hard to see why everyone wants a stake in the gold rush. Next year, therefore, will see even more MMO releases on the market. There will be superhero MMOs like Champions Online, and DC Universe Online, sci-fi MMOs like Star Trek Online and Star Wars: The Old Republic - there's even a Lego MMO scheduled for 2009.

A musician, who claims that he's sick of his life, was prevented on 15th of December 2008 by the site administrators of E-bay to sell his soul. Dante Knoxx, 24 years old, has brought his soul for sale on this site, the auction started from the sum of 30,000 euros. The young man's soul worth that day not less than 780,000 euros, but now Knoxx can't sell it anymore, because the site's administrators have blocked his ad. According to the rules of E-bay, this site can sell only "natural objects".

"I have been refunded but I had 200 people watching it, I'm really disappointed by that. "I had lots of emails asking if I was serious and religious groups telling me I couldn't do that, others wanted to talk about my soul.

"I had a lot of interest but no actual bidders which is a real shame." The Arts Institute graduate decided to try to sell his soul after a lack of creative jobs in his home town of Bournemouth, Dorset.

"I'm a highly creative person, but creativity is not without its drawbacks," he mentioned in the listing.

Mr Knoxx was having in mind to use the money to get his experimental music group, Paradigm, which he created with his friend Zakk Altair, up and running.

The auction included a legal contract entitling the new soul's owner to a percentage of Mr Knoxx's income for the rest of his life, with a guaranteed minimum of 1,000 euros per year.

Another clause in the contract entitled the owner to 10% of any intellectual works of Paradigm.

He also pledged to write a full account of the soul's life within three years and the owner of his soul would also be entitled to 10% of his estate in his will.

Other clauses in the contract included sending the owner an annual report of his soul, and a birthday card on Mr Knoxx's birthday, as well as a promise to plant three trees a year.

A final clause also stated Mr Knoxx could buy back his soul for 100,000,000 euros.

At least 30 Russian tourists died in a car accident in Israel

At least 30 people died and 20 other were injured after a bus was flipped upside-down last night, near Sinai Desert, in southern Israel.

Israeli ambulance service announced that 24 tourists, most Russian citizens, who were on board the bus, died. Russian ambassador to Israels told Moscow's state-controlled Vesti-24 channel, 30 people died and at least 20 were wounded. Several ambulances were deployed on the ground, several wounded being transported to hospital in the town of Eilat. At the wounded's evacuation participated military helicopters from the Ovda airbase.

"Suddenly the bus started to fall off the left side and from there I don't remember a thing. I woke up lying on the ground," Yelena Potyomkina, a 56-year-old passenger, told Israel's YNET news website.

Guilty for the accident is the coach driver, who tried to overcome another bus in a close curve, lost control of the vehicle, stated an Israeli radio station. The same source added that the driver committed in the past 22 road traffic offenses.

According to Russian agency RIA Novosti announced that bus passengers were employees of five travel agencies in St. Petersburg. From October 1st, Russian tourists are exempted from visa entry into Israel, which caused an increase in the number of Russian tourists.
